I likened the NSW govt policy [of allowing the Fire Commissioner to close stations due to budgetary restraints] to a drunken casino patron rolling the dice ... without a care.

Recently a car fire in Maroubra threatened the safety of our public. Maroubra fire station was closed at the time. The next roll of the dice may result in a pre-school fire or a house fire. There is no saying that the next roll won't be a chemical incident. 

Mr O'Farrell you are putting our lives in unnecessary risk. Please insist that our Fire Brigades protect LIFE and PROPERTY to the best of their ability.
